The site is upstream of the Ngodwana Mill. The substrate consisted mostly of stones in current, and gravel, with dominant stones and gravel out of current. Limited vegetation present. The habitat that is very good for supporting a diverse macroinvertebrate community. the flows were high due to a lot of rain in May. Impacts that could potentially affect the site include agricultural activities, plantations, roads, bridges, railroads, invasive plant species.
